Technology Tips For Success

Having a website is very important. Using the online technology available to us can really boost your website statistics. The better your website statistics, the money money you should be making with your website.

Don’t use technology for bad business practices. There is a lot of technology out there to use for your advantage. Don’t over do it. Some companies go as far as; using a computer program to profile guests. If a guest is good or bad. This way the company will know who they are dealing with up front. In my opinion, this is taking technology a bit too far.

As I have said before, use mobile technology. Especially if you don’t have the time to spend in front of your computer all day. Most business people can’t afford to be at the office all day. Their job requires them to always be on the run. Some people work two or more jobs. You need to have a mobile device, whether it be laptop, PDA, cell phone or whatever you are comfortable with using. You will be able to send and receive email, faxes, files, and important messages. There should be no excuse for you telling a customer you need to get back to the office and you get back to them. Although, even I have done this recently. We have to break the bad habit of not being mobile. Today’s technology thrives on our businesses being mobile.

Use web 2.0, it’s very beneficial. Use social media networks to improve your businesses database of customers. Myspace, facebook, delicious, digg, so many more social networks to make you and your business well known. You can post comments, messages, vidoes, and blogs. Web 2.0 is all about making friends. You make friends and your friends trust you more. Then they are more likely to buy your products or service. People tend to buy from who they trust. Then it’s all about word of mouth through the social community. It works great!

Make sure you have an easily navigated website. Don’t use anything on your website that will contradict what you are selling. Make sure all the information; including ad space is something you would use and recommend. Make sure you have good, quality content on your website. You need to have something to draw people in. Try and offer them a reason to visit your website.

A blog about you and your business will really help shape your business. A blog can make your page rank higher. A Blog will also be more likely to raise your rank in search engines. Search engines find new content. So the more you blog, the more likely people will find your website. Create a newsletter you send out by email. Your customer base will be more likely to return if you have a newsletter.

Spend money on technology to upgrade, not waste. You spend money on all kinds of important things to keep your business going. Don’t upgrade with technology only when it is necessary. Upgrade with technology whenever you can. A business just starting out should be overwhelmed with technology. People seem to have the attitude that they don’t need anything new. The truth is, everyday new products come out to make our lives easier.

When you spend money on your business, don’t think of it as losing money. Every bit of money you spend on new technology is money well spent. The more technology your business has, the faster it will grow. The more likely your business will succeed and keep up with the competition. When McDonald’s came out with the Happy Meal; Burger King didn’t sit around twiddling their thumbs, they invented the kids meal.

Be smart about where you spend your money. Some technology is an obvious ripoff. Spend your money on technology that will help you in the future as well as right now. Technology is here to save us money and time. Don’t overwork yourself. Work Smarter, Not Harder. You can get more work accomplished thanks to technology. Most businesses can more than double the workload because of technological gadgets.

Boost Targeted Traffic for Your Online Business with a Good Linking Strategy

Traffic is of utmost importance for the success of your online business. Getting loads of untargeted or irrelevant traffic is not in any way going to help your online business. A good linking strategy is what you need to ensure that you get a stream of targeted traffic. It is better to generate 200 targeted traffic visitors a day rather than 2000 visitors who have little or no interest in your products and services.

The linking strategy detailed below will show you how to get about doing this.

1. You should endeavor to get as many one way inbound links as possible because Search Engines love them immensely. This will be possible if your website has unique, quality content. If you have such great content, other webmasters will be eager to link their websites to yours to provide their visitors a good experience. This will provide you with one-way links thus generating valuable traffic for your website.

2. One of the best ways of generating targeted traffic for your online business is to write quality authoritative articles on the theme of your website and submitting them to article directories and article distributors. You should of course have your website URL in the resource box. These articles will be grabbed by webmasters and published in their websites and ezines. This will soon have a viral effect, which in turn will generate a huge volume of traffic to your website through the link in the resource box.

3. Another useful strategy is to identify the sites that the search engines consider as Authority Sites in the same theme or niche as yours and endeavor to exchange links with these sites because these are sites that generate a huge amount of traffic. These sites often have more quality content and more pages than other sites and in most search engine results for high traffic keywords, they will appear within the first ten results. If you are successful in exchanging links you are assured of a substantial amount of targeted traffic from them.

4. Though there is much talk about Search Engines devaluing reciprocal links due to certain unethical practices indulged in, by certain webmasters, search engines do appreciate quality theme related reciprocal links. Acquiring such reciprocal links will generate targeted traffic to your site.

5. As a new online entrepreneur your anxiety to generate traffic can lead you into pitfalls knowingly or unknowingly. Wrong linking strategies can get your website penalized or even banned by Google and other major search engines. Keep away from Link Farms and Bad Neighborhoods. Link farms are pages in websites that contain more than one hundred assorted links in a page and Bad Neighborhoods are websites that are banned by the search engines or have a bad reputation.

6. Wherever possible ensure that you have anchor texts in your inbound links. These anchor texts give the search engines a good indication of the theme of your website or web page. By having your keywords in the texts the rankings for these keywords will get a boost which in turn will enable you to get targeted traffic. It will be wise to vary the keyword in the anchor text, since too many of same anchor texts can make your links appear like spam to the search engines.

Conclusion:

Act with caution and act wisely. Don’t tread into areas where even Angels fear to tread and get penalized. A gradual and progressive increase of quality, relevant incoming links, will indicate to the search engines, that you are hard at work building a genuine good linking strategy. This will automatically boost the flow of targeted traffic for your online business.

Dropshipping Basics - Get Your Questions Answered Here

What is dropshipping? Why is it used? Can you use it? What are the pros and cons of dropshipping?

I\’m glad you asked all those questions or at least thought about one or two of them. Asking questions shows me that you are not ready to embrace a selling tactic that you are hearing or reading about; but you are curious about the advantages and disadvantages of using dropshippers.

Let\’s start at the beginning by defining what dropshipping is all about.

If you have a desire to sell a widget on eBay or on your website, you must find a source for the widget you want to sell. This involves finding distributors or manufacturers of the widget you want to sell. Walking down this path will uncover the fact that authorized distributors of the widget you want to sell will probably need a minimum quantity or dollar volume purchase from you for the widget you want to sell.

The manufacturer will not even want to talk to you, because he has a distributor or distributors that stock large quantities of the widget, and he doesn\’t want to sell you one piece at a time. It\’s just not efficient for him.

Where does that leave you? You are in the proverbial pickle now, because you don\’t want to fill up your bedroom with 200 widgets from the distributor. Besides, as an optimistic newbie seller you can\’t afford the outlay in cash for the quantity required to meet his minimum buy.

Enter the dropshipper. He has a wholesale warehouse that stocks widgets that he buys at a wholesale price from the distributor, and for a fee he will offer to take single piece orders from you and ship them to your customer. Depending on your arrangement with the dropshipper, your customer will not even know that the shipment came from the dropshipper.

The advantage for the newbie is this. You don\’t have to carry stock in your bedroom or garage, and all the shipping is taken care of by the dropshipper. The downside is that your competitors, who can afford to stock widgets in their home or rental space, buy widgets without the dropshipper markup, so they can beat the price you thought would be competitive.

Here\’s the bottom line. If you can be price competitive, dropshipping for the newbie is the way to go initially until you get your feet on the ground, but you have to be very selective in the product you want to sell. The key is to find a niche that does not have a lot of competition.

Finding dropshippers will be a daunting task in itself. A cursory look at the Internet, will uncover hundreds of dropshipppers that will seem to offer you the moon to get your business. But beware of the markup wolf in genuine wholesale sheep\’s clothing. Conduct your due diligence and thoroughly investigate. Get information from reliable and trustworthy sources.

What\’s Your CFO (Compelling Free Offer)?

One of the reasons I love the business model I teach is because it effortlessly PULLS clients to me. I never have to chase them or worry about having as full a roaster as I want. The first step in making this happen is creating what I call your CFO - Compelling Free Offer. The problem is that very few solo-preneurs actually utilize this simple method of attracting all the clients they want.

Your Compelling F.r.e.e. Offer (CFO) is what entices people to want to find out more about you and what it is that you\’re offering. When you make your complimentary offer compelling enough, more people will be interested in taking advantage of it, which increase the audience to which you can then market to.

Your CFO can be packaged in a variety of ways: a mini e-course, a checklist, a CD, an audio download, a special report, a free teleseminar, etc. I offer a few different CFOs - a mini ecourse, an audio download, and for joint ventures I offer one of my paid products for free as a bonus to their paid offering.

The content of your CFO should be broad in scope, yet address a particular problem your target market is struggling with, something that they\’d pay to have a solution to. That\’s what makes your offer compelling in the first place, and it\’s what attracts them into your Marketing & Product Funnel. Your CFO should be loaded with valuable content, so much so that you leave your prospect thinking, “wow, if this is what he/she gives away, imagine what his/her paid stuff must be like!”

To lead them further down your funnel, you\’ll want to be sure to not give away the store in your CFO, but share what the problem is, what your solution to the problem is, giving them a taste of how you can solve it for them. But what\’s key to making your CFO successful is to not just give great content, but to leave them with wanted more. The \’more\’ comes by way of your paid products and services.

The results of having a CFO are three-fold: you build your credibility and become known as an expert in your niche, your word-of-mouth marketing catches fire, and you\’re approached to share your CFO with even more people through joint ventures and strategic partnerships.

The mistake I made when I first started my consulting business was trying to pitch my services to people who didn\’t even know me (I cringed when I remember all those wasted early morning networking breakfasts). We all know that it\’s much easier to get business by referral, right? Because the person referring you has a relationship with you, and they have come to know, like and trust you well enough to pass your name along to their friends and colleagues.

That\’s what this method of marketing does for you. Your CFO is the start of building that critical know, like and trust factor with your prospects so that when they are ready to invest some money in a solution to their problem - whether via a product or service - your name is at the top of the list.

And the best part? You NEVER have to sell them on what you\’re offering. It\’s brilliant, really.

So, start researching what it is that your target market wants most, what problem is keeping them up at night. Then create your solution and offer it to them as your CFO. to get them into your Marketing & Product Funnel. It\’s a winning formula every time!

Blog Your Way to Heavy Traffic

Blogging is your best friend when it comes to Internet Marketing. It helps in website promotion as well as driving massive traffic to your site if done correctly. You could be missing out on this marketing tool if you do not have blogs up and running herding traffic in your direction.

There are four basic steps that you can take to boost your website traffic by taking full advantage of blogging.

1. Domain Name equals mega traffic.

Be aware of SEO and keyword optimization when selecting your domain name. You will want to get proper placement for your site in search engines, which will boost your site traffic. A domain name is the store front to your blog, so pick a name that is easy to remember and relevant to your products. By using important keywords in the name, search engines can give your site high ranking for relevant keywords. It would be like putting your store in Beverly Hills, it would become one of the better known stores just because of placement.

2. Let Your Blog Platform be your stage

Make sure you choose a platform that offers features that your site is looking for. Your platform will be your stage that sets the atmosphere for attracting potential clients attention.
There are many free and paid platforms that you can choose from. It may seem mind boggling and confusing in the beginning, but there are ways to receive help from experienced bloggers. You can post comments on blogs and ask website owners for help in choosing the right blog platform for your site. Learn from those that have went before you. Don\’t try to fly solo when there are so many resources to get information from.

3. Design your Blog

Use your niche as inspiration to design your blog. You will want something that will capture your audiences attention. Make your graphics and design look professional, and relevant to your internet business. You won\’t want swirly pink balloons and bubble letters on a blog about engineering software. You would lose your credibility before anyone read your first word. In fact your safest bet is to stick with black, blue, red, or brown for your blog colors. Just like a black suit at work is a power color, so will be your words. Set the tone for expertise by making your design professional and neat.

4. Content, content, content

No matter what else you get right, make your content unique and relevant to your niche. The magic wand that will pull the traffic in will be your content. Take your time to come up with quality easy to understand content. Captivate your audience from the first word and you will have loyal clients.

Make sure you use keywords in your blog post to help search engines determine which niche you are targeting. You may even find yourself in the top ten, which would be a huge boost to your website traffic.

Have fun designing your blog. Follow these four steps to blog success and you will see improved traffic flow to your website.

Don\’t be A Vanilla Wafer, Specialized Products Can be Your Best Seller

Online business is operated so differently from brick and mortar businesses in some ways, but customers tend to respond the same no matter where they are shopping. Everyone should understand the customers mentality because everyone has been a consumer at least a few times in just the past couple of days.

Product that appeals to the masses may seem like your safest bet in making big sales. Though it sounds like a fool proof plan, it is flawed in so many ways. In today\’s day and age not many people have time to buy something, we\’ll say software, that was developed for the masses. Then sit around for hours sifting through all of the information that does not apply to them. It wastes time and frustrates the buyer.

The generic product is the Vanilla Wafer of merchandise. No matter who you know, how old they may be, or where they are from, everyone will eat a Vanilla Wafer. Is it their favorite cookie ever? Most likely not. If you could choose between a Vanilla Wafer or a triple chocolate chip cookie with walnuts, 99 out or 100 people are going to choose the triple chocolate chip cookie with walnuts. It\’s not because the Vanilla Wafer isn\’t good, but it\’s so generic, there is not much attraction to the cookie, it was made to appeal to the masses. The height of it\’s popularity is in Daycares, and even that position is getting taken over by the animal cracker. Let\’s face it, there just isn\’t anything specialized about the vanilla wafer.

Just like cookies, consumers want specialized product. When people go shopping they want the software that deals with their needs. If are developing a program for authors, make the content relevant to them, do not try and squish in information for bloggers. Be your niche markets triple chocolate chip cookie with walnuts, do not settle for a vanilla wafer existence.

After you have chosen your special market, and zoomed in on the consumer base you will focus on, you then pick a side. Just like the Vanilla Wafer, you will want everyone to like you, but to sale you have to have a bit of controversy. You will need to let it be known why things should be done the way you are selling it. You cannot agree with your 10 competitors, and expect people to buy your product. If you are going to blend in with the other \’boxes of cookies\’ don\’t expect the client to choose your box. Your product needs to have a bias. Controversy sells, and that is your ultimate goal. By having your own point of view on what is the best product, and how to use it, means some people will love your product, and they will tell their friends about it.

Others will absolutely hate your product and they will tell their friends. This may sound bad, but that is not so. Their friends may have different needs than the haters, they may think your product a perfect fit for them. The fact is, your product is getting spread by word of mouth and that is the best advertisement you can have. Your product will be the triple chocolate chip cookie of the online marketing business.

Keep in mind that the Vanilla Wafer never started a controversy, it is not sold in the specialty cookie stores, nor is it served at special dinners. Though generic has an appealing safety net ring to it, does not make it the best. Be the gourmet of your chosen niche product. Make peoples mouths water when they see your product, the perfect unique fit for their needs.

Video games suppliers want resellers for their wholesale merchandise business to sell their inventory. Problem being, many people keep on looking for wholesale merchandise at dirt cheap prices so that they can sell it elsewhere within their offline crowd, online market and even their immediate friends for some.

Often include manufacturers, importers and major suppliers for discounted merchandise. You can find their contact information on various wholesale directories and online market places like EBay, among many other major auctions. Serious distributors who sell wholesale just never hunt for people - companies come to them for their business.

It should stay that way for a long time no matter what drastic changes the market has as if your offerings are too good, consistency remains and the distributor also has pre-established operation in certain niche, he should have plenty of business flocking to the company - does not having to hunt anymore for business. Email Marketing - The Lifeblood of Your Business

Email marketing is the most important aspect of any online business. It\’s important to build your list so that you have potential customers to market to again and again! Why take the chance of a person visiting your site one time, when you can capture their information and possibly sell to them down the road?

If you haven\’t already done so, you must start an email marketing campaign for your business. Add a form to your site, asking visitors for their name and email address. The less information you ask for, the more likely that they will give it to you! To increase the likelihood that they give you this information, offer a free report, ebook, goody basket full of information, etc.

Another aspect of email marketing is an autoresponder. You can find some very good ones that are cheap, and even free. The autoresponder will capture your visitors name and email address, automatically adding them to the database. When you set up your email campaign, your visitor will get all of your emails, which should contain helpful, relevant information, along with a possible product sell toward the end of your message.

Always give your potential customers honest, important information they can use when you email them. Make it interesting so you keep their attention, relate it to your product in some way, and present a call to action toward the end.

Adding a sense of urgency works well in email marketing. Give your reader a reason they need to buy NOW - special price, limited quantity, etc. Adding a postscript (P S) at the end of your message as a final chance is also effective.

With a well thought out email marketing campaign, your sales could possibly sky rocket! Why take the chance of losing potentially wonderful paying customers? Get an autoresponder, add a form to your blog or site, and start collecting information. It\’s essential to the success of your business.

Give your business the boost it needs to soar with email marketing. You won\’t believe the impact it will have on your profits.
